Entrepreneurs will have the chance to sell their wares in one of Dartford's markets for free as part of its role as a "Portas Town".
Dartford Borough Council said it would take care of the admin and costs.
The Kent town's markets take place on a Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and have a charter dating back to the reign of James I.
Dartford was one of 12 towns chosen to try out ideas by retail guru Mary Portas to rejuvenate the high street.
Applicants should contact the council for details on how to apply.
Jeremy Kite, leader of the council, said, "It's great to be able to help local people take the first step to making their business vision a reality."
