Motorcyclist dies in one-vehicle accident in Ashford

A 20-year-old motorcyclist has died after coming off his bike on a busy road in Ashford, Kent.

Police believe there was no other vehicle involved in the accident, on the Ashford-bound carriageway of the A2042, just after 10:00 GMT.

A second crash followed on the opposite carriageway, as a motorist went to the motorcyclist's aid. No-one was hurt.

The Romney Marsh Road was closed for more than five hours as police investigated the cause.

They want to hear from anyone who saw the accident or who saw the orange Triumph Daytona beforehand.
