Kent snow: Gritters out as more snow predicted
More snow is forecast to fall later on Friday and over the weekend
Gritters are continuing to work around the clock to ensure the main routes across Kent are kept clear as more snow is predicted.
Kent County Council's highways manager Toby Howe said 160 farmers had also been out clearing minor roads.
Thirteen schools in Kent and Medway were closed or partially closed, while motorists and rail passengers faced travel disruption in west Kent.
East Kent was largely unaffected during the day, but snow is predicted later.
BBC South East weather presenter Kaddy Lee-Preston said freezing temperatures would remain across the weekend "with many places struggling to reach even +1C and feeling bitter in the strong winds".

She said temperatures would fall on Friday night to -3C and further snow showers would give a potential for 1 to 2cm.
"Ice is also a concern and surfaces will be prone to ice throughout the weekend."
Many places across the county will not see any snow on Saturday, although there is a chance of a few flurries which could amount to a further 2cm.
"On Sunday, there is a weather system moving up from the continent which could give large amounts of snow," she said.
"Details are difficult to pinpoint at the moment but it's the type of situation where we could get 5cm or more of snow."
Rail company Southeastern said while services were still facing some disruption into the evening, it hoped to run a normal service on Saturday.
It said Network Rail were responsible for keeping the rails free of ice and snow and ghost trains would be running overnight.
The snow has also affected Saturday's football matches, with the League Two game between Rochdale and Gillingham postponed because of a frozen pitch.
Dartford's game away to Hereford, and the match between Ebbsfleet United and Tamworth have also been postponed.
