Teenage driver and passenger die in Kent collision

A teenage driver and her passenger died after their car left the road and crashed into a tree in Kent.

A passing motorist found the Ford Fiesta on the side of the A20 near Charing at 22:00 GMT on Saturday.

The driver, 17, from the Ashford area, and her passenger, a 20-year-old man from the Maidstone area, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed until 02:00 GMT while officers investigated the collision and removed the car.

Kent Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
