Boy charged after laser shone at Kent police helicopter

A boy has been charged after a laser pen was shone at a helicopter as its crew helped search for an injured man.

The helicopter was involved in a search by officers for a man believed to have been hurt in a collision near Hersden in Kent at about 21:40 on Sunday.

Kent Police said a laser had been shone into the cockpit of the helicopter.

The teenager has been charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft and has been bailed to attend Canterbury Youth Court on 15 January.
