A man has been charged over the death of a boy who died after he was knocked off his bike in an alleged hit-and-run.

Kyle Coen, 14, from Sittingbourne, Kent, died on 30 July following the collision near Bapchild Cricket Club.

He was cycling to meet his girlfriend in Faversham when he was struck by a car.

Robert Lawrence, of Barrow Green, Teynham, has been charged with failing to stop after an accident and perverting the course of justice.

He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court on 17 January.

A 27-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the collision has been released without charge.
