A police car was damaged when it attempted to stop a car which went on to hit two parked vehicles and a wall, injuring the five men inside.
Kent Police said the Peugeot failed to stop for officers who saw it being driven erratically in Old Road East, Gravesend, just before 01:00 BST.
The police vehicle was too damaged to follow, but officers saw the car crash.
The 18-year-old driver of the Peugeot was taken to hospital in London with serious injuries.
He is now in a stable condition. The four passengers were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Three of the occupants had to be freed from the vehicle by Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
