Canterbury motorist killed as car hits tree

A woman was killed when the Mini she was driving crashed into a tree in Canterbury.

The 54-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in Littlebourne Road at about 18:10 BST on Monday.

Kent Police say the car was travelling towards Canterbury town centre when it hit the tree. Officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit attended the crash site and part of the road was closed until 22:00 BST.
