Kent builder Wayne Harrison jailed for £800,000 VAT fraud

A Kent builder has been jailed for 30 months after he pleaded guilty to tax fraud offences valued at £812,000.

Wayne Morris Harrison, 52, previously of Fitzroy Avenue, Broadstairs, admitted two counts of value added tax fraud at Canterbury Crown Court.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) said the offences which Harrison admitted on Monday were valued at £812,000.

He was charged in November 2011 at Margate police station following an investigation by HMRC officials.
