Folkestone assault prompts attempted murder arrests

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 30-year-old was seriously assaulted in a Kent coastal town.

The man suffered wounds to his upper body during the attack in Blackbull Road, Folkestone, just after 18:00 BST on Thursday.

He is being treated at the Royal London Hospital in east London.

Detectives believe the three men are known to each other and said a weapon had been recovered.

Kent Police said it was not known whether the attack had taken place inside a property or in the street.

A spokeswoman added: "Two men, a 27-year-old and a 29-year-old, both from Folkestone, are currently in police custody awaiting interview."
