Kent Police: Folkestone bike-ride girl attacked by adults

A 12-year-old girl has been attacked by two adults in Folkestone while she was out riding her bike.

Kent Police said the youngster had a water bomb and a large stone thrown at her - the stone hit her in the face.

Officers said the girl was riding her bike in Canterbury Road near St Saviours Church on Thursday evening.

The girl noticed a parked car and was then attacked by a woman who was in the passenger seat and a man who was getting into the drivers seat.

Police said the woman threw the water bomb and the man threw the stone, knocking the girl's glasses off but leaving her unharmed although a bit shaken.

The car was described as "medium-sized and red" and the couple were described as black and in their 20s.

A spokesman for the force said officers were treating the attack, which happened at about 17:30 BST, as an unprovoked assault and have appealed for witnesses.
