Kent microbrewer makes special ale for royal wedding

Help

Moodley's microbrewery has created a commemorative beer to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Named Royal Match, it is brewed using two types of hops; one English and one German.

Head brewer and owner Yudhistra Moodley began brewing beer at home for himself and his friends. Before starting his microbrewery in Penshurst, Mr Moodley worked in the financial district of London for 14 years.

A year and a half ago Mr Moodley made a beer for his friend's wedding day and he plans to do the same for his brother-in-law when he gets married next year.

Royal Match joins the other five brews in the Moodley's portfolio; its signature Toad Rock bitter, Poundage Porter, Pantiles Porter, Penshurst Pleasure and Smockham Ale.
