Police name East Yorkshire car crash death couple

Police have named a couple killed in a crash involving three cars near Driffield, East Yorkshire.

Walter Stevenson, 66, and Elizabeth Mallaby, 68, both from Bainton, died when their car was in collision with two other vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.

They both died at the scene.

The accident happened on the A164 Beverley Road at Sunderlandwick, between Driffield and Hutton Cranswick, at about 13:10 BST on Wednesday.

Humberside Police said a 65-year-old man, driving one of the other cars, and a 67-year-old woman passenger both sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries. They are being treated in hospital.

The driver of the third car was uninjured.
