Humberside Police officer pleads guilty to sex assaults

A former police constable has pleaded guilty to four sexual assaults while serving as an officer in East Yorkshire.

Lee Kershaw, 37, of Queens Gardens, Cramlington, Northumberland, admitted the offences at Sheffield Crown Court.

He also pleaded guilty to four counts of misconduct in a public office by engaging in sexual activity and committing the assaults while on duty.

He was bailed and will be sentenced on 27 August.

The assaults took place between 2007 and 2008 when Kershaw was based at Hornsea police station.

Humberside Police said he was dismissed from the force in May 2009.
