Spate of 35 thefts at Driffield allotments

Dozens of allotment and garden sheds have been broken into in the Driffield area of East Yorkshire.

Humberside Police said there had been a spate of 35 burglaries at sites reported in recent weeks.

Officers said allotment-holders should make sure their property was securely locked and tools stored in the sheds should be marked.

In a statement, the force said growers needed to be vigilant, especially during the summer months.
