Man, 22, charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and burglary after two men were stabbed in North Lincolnshire.

Michael Barker-Jones was charged following a burglary at a property in Grange Lane South, Scunthorpe, on Saturday.

Two men, aged 70 and 38, sustained stab wounds in the incident.

The 38-year-old is in a stable condition at Hull Royal Infirmary. The 70-year-old man was discharged from hospital last weekend.

Mr Barker-Jones, who has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and aggravated burglary, appeared before Scunthorpe Magistrates' Court earlier and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Hull Crown Court on 2 May.

Two women, aged 47 and 20, and a 22-year-old man were also arrested in connection with the incident.

They were released on bail pending further inquiries.
