Boy, 14, dies after being hit by car outside Sheffield Park Academy

A boy who was hit by a car as he left school in Sheffield has died.

Lawrence Moorhouse, 14, was hit by a silver Vauxhall Astra in Beaumont Road North at about 16:15 GMT on Tuesday as he left Sheffield Park Academy.

He was taken to Sheffield Children's Hospital, where he later died. The 14-year-old's parents said he had been "a very popular young man".

South Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
