Sixteen arrests at Scunthorpe-Grimsby FA Cup replay

Glanford Park in Scunthorpe Both clubs wrote to a number of supporters before the match to advise them not to attend

Sixteen people were arrested at the FA Cup replay between Scunthorpe United and Grimsby Town "to prevent a breach of the peace".

Humberside Police said the fans were "intent on causing disorder" and were escorted back to Grimsby.

Police and the clubs had warned blacklisted supporters from trying to enter the ground, even if they had a ticket.

Several supporters also missed kick-off because of a crash close to the ground.

Police said two further arrests were made in separate incidents at the match at Glanford Park on Tuesday.

Six people were arrested over clashes that followed the 0-0 draw at Blundell Park on 9 November.

Grimsby Town won the replay.
