Koen Allwood: Family pay tribute to Barton crash victim
The family of a teenager killed when he was struck by a car as he walked home with a friend have described him as a "gentleman".
Koen Allwood, 15, from Barton died and a girl was seriously injured when they were in collision with a car near the Humber Bridge on Wednesday evening.
They had just finished presenting a show on radio station WildCube.
A 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail.
In a tribute released by Humberside Police, the Allwood family said Koen was an "accomplished swimmer", who also played cornet with Barton Youth Band.
"He was an avid computer game player," they said with "a huge online community of friends".
"He'd known the girl he was with since he was three or four.
"His final selfless act was to walk his friend 500m home - a thing he'd done so many times before. This is the kind of gentleman he was," said his family.
Police said the girl, also 15, was recovering from her injuries.
