Girl, 11, trapped under lorry

An 11-year-old schoolgirl is in hospital with serious injuries after being trapped underneath a lorry.

The unnamed girl was understood to have been walking home from school when she was hit on Axminster Close in Hull on Wednesday afternoon.

Humberside Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident in the Bransholme area of the city to contact them.

Roads in the area were closed as officers carried out investigations.
