Girl, 2, 'critical' after East Yorkshire car crash

A two-year-old girl has suffered "life-threatening" head injuries in a crash involving two cars.

She was travelling in the back seat of one of the cars when the collision took place near Preston, East Yorkshire at 11:15 BST on Sunday.

The child was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where she is "critically ill", Humberside Police said.

Two car drivers, a 26-year-old woman and a 72-year-old man, had minor injuries.

Police said it happened at the junction of the B1239 and B1240 and involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a Mazda MX5.
