East Yorkshire road repair work carried out overnight

Repair work costing £2m on damaged roads in East Yorkshire is being carried out by teams overnight to minimise disruption to motorists.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council said the work was needed to prevent disintegration and seal the surfaces against rainwater.

Bypass repairs are being carried out on the A1079 at Arras Hill and A1035 Tickton.

The resurfacing works are expected to run until August.

The spokesman said the road markings were usually replaced within seven days after the loose chippings had gone, but this was "subject to the weather being fine".
