Grenade found in Westwoodside during renovations

A number of houses in a North Lincolnshire village were evacuated when a grenade was found during building work.

An army bomb disposal team was called to a property on Newbigg, Westwoodside, earlier and the road was closed.

Humberside Police said they were called after the discovery of "what is believed to be an old grenade".

A spokesperson said residents were allowed to return home after the device was "safely disposed of".
