Hull boxing coach says unlicensed fights should be 'outlawed'

A boxing coach has warned that unlicensed fights could lead to the death of a fighter in the ring.

Mike Gibbons from City of Hull Amateur Boxing Club told BBC Look North he was concerned about the number of unlicensed and unregulated matches taking place.

"Two lads could be put in the ring together without true supervision," he said.

"Someone could die."

But Dean Goddard from the organisation Life For A Kid, which organises boxing matches for charity, said: "They just want the challenge once, they don't want to start an amateur career."
