Police have arrested two people in connection with money laundering offences following a raid at the north east Lincolnshire home of X Factor finalist Ella Henderson's parents.

Newspapers said one of those arrested is Ella's mother Michelle.

A man thought to be her father, Sean, was arrested by Metropolitan police officers in London.

Humberside Police confirmed a raid on two properties in Tetney, but did not name the people arrested.

In a statement the force said: "Officers from Humberside Police have this morning executed warrants at two addresses in Tetney, Lincolnshire, with assistance from Lincolnshire Police.

"A 49-year-old woman was arrested at one of the addresses and has been taken to Grimsby Police Station to be questioned in connection with money laundering offences.

"Inquiries are ongoing at the two addresses.

"As part of the same inquiry, a 47-year-old man was arrested on behalf of Humberside Police by officers in the Metropolitan Police and he will be questioned in due course by detectives from Humberside Police."

Ella Henderson came sixth in last year's ITV talent programme.

The 17-year-old signed a deal with Simon Cowell and is reported to be currently recording her first album.
