Man found dead at Full Sutton house sparks murder inquiry

A man has been found dead at a house in East Yorkshire, prompting a murder investigation.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was found by Humberside Police officers at his home in Full Sutton, the force said.

Police were called to the property on Thursday afternoon after concerns were raised for the occupant's safety.

The man's death was initially treated as unexplained but the force believe he had sustained injuries.

A cordon is in place around the house.

Officers are trying to establish the cause of death, as well as the identity of the man and are searching for his next of kin.

Det Ch Insp Alistair McFarlane said: "Although very much in the early stages of the investigation, we have not managed to trace any family or friends who are able to identify the man, nor is there an apparent motive for his murder."

Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone who may have information about the man to come forward.
