Snaith suspicious death: Man arrested

Crime scene in Snaith Police are trying to establish the victim's whereabouts on Saturday night

A man in his 20s has been found dead outside a house in East Yorkshire.

The man, who has not been named, was discovered on St Lawrence Avenue, Snaith, near Goole, just after 08:00 GMT on Sunday.

Humberside Police have not said whether the man was wounded but said the death was being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem test was taking place.

A 37-year-old local man has been arrested and is in custody. Witnesses have been urged to come forward.

Det Insp Paul Dixon said: "We have a lot more enquiries to do in order to establish the victim's whereabouts and what happened to him leading to his body being discovered and I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact us."
