Bands from Hull have been filmed around some of the city's most famous locations to promote this year's Oxfam fundraiser in the city.

Film locations include a Humber Bridge toll booth, the Maritime Museum and the KC Stadium.

Local musicians were filmed doing a busking set at the venues.

The videos are released this week on a Youtube channel to raise awareness of the main "Oxjam" fundraising gig in October.

"Iconic" locations

When choosing the venues for their buskers, Hull's Oxjam organisers wanted quirky locations that would not normally be associated with live music performances.

Organiser Liam Foster said: "We wanted to get some of our great local musicians at 12 locations in the city and it worked brilliantly.

"We filmed Tom Skelly at the Humber Bridge in one of the toll booths. They closed off a lane especially for us.

"For Lauren Bird we chose the Hull Maritime Museum and we had Dom Hook performing in the changing rooms at the KC Stadium."

The result is 14 videos, released this week on a dedicated Youtube channel.

Securing the locations was "surprisingly easy" according to film maker Josh Moore.

"Everyone was so helpful," he said, "and it was worth all the effort. Seeing one of our performers with huge fish as a backdrop at The Deep was just amazing."

The videos are being used to promote the main Oxjam gig in Hull in October.

"We wanted to get an Oxjam event going again in Hull and we've been lucky enough to secure some great local bands and artists already for the gig," said Liam.

He said the event at the Welly Club would have "a Jools Holland-style set", with five bands playing in a circle, performing staggered sets.

"We want to raise loads of money for Oxfam and this seems like a good way of doing it," he said.

"We're really looking forward to it and we know the bands are too."

Local bands playing at the gig include endoflevelbaddie, Affairs and The Black Delta Movement.

Oxjam Hull is at the Welly Club on Friday 26 October.
