A memorial event for a 15-year-old cyclist who was hit by a car was held in East Yorkshire.

Sam Brown was riding with another boy on the B1230 Hull Road at Eastrington, near Goole, when the pair were struck on 6 September, police said.

The second boy, also aged 15, was left with broken bones and bruising.

The memorial event in Gilberdyke was organised by a group of Sam's friends and took place at the village playing field on Saturday evening.

A 67-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident and later bailed.

Police said the boys were cycling from Howden towards Gilberdyke when the collision took place.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
