Driver arrested over death of cyclist in Eastrington

A driver has been arrested in connection with the death of a 15-year-old cyclist in East Yorkshire.

Humberside Police said the boy was cycling with another boy on the B1230 Hull Road at Eastrington near Goole when the pair were involved in a collision with a car.

The boy sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead in hospital.

Police said the car's driver, a 67-year-old local woman, was arrested in connection with the incident.

She is in custody waiting to be interviewed, the force said.

The second boy, also aged 15, suffered fractures and bruising and remains in Hull Royal Infirmary.

The accident took place at 20:50 BST on Thursday and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
