BBC presenters Beryl and Betty nominated for Sony award

Help

Two BBC Radio Humberside presenters have become the oldest nominees for the Sony Radio Academy Awards in its 30-year history.

Beryl Renwick, 86, and Betty Smith, 90, started presenting on the station alongside David Reeves six years ago after they were talent spotted during a guided tour of the BBC studios.

The pair will be facing stiff competition from other national presenters including Frank Skinner and BBC 6 Music's Adam & Joe for the entertainment prize. The awards will be presented on 14 May in London.
