Two arrested after car hijack and abduction in Hull

Two men have been arrested after a car was hijacked in Hull and a 23-year-old female passenger was abducted.

Humberside Police said the car was parked on Albion Street with the engine running when a man allegedly got inside and drove off at high speed.

The woman was waiting in the car for her partner.

The car collided with another vehicle shortly after. The man then grabbed the passenger's handbag before exiting the car and fleeing the scene.

The man was pursued a short distance by a member of the public but got away.

Two other cars, which were parked nearby, were also hit in the collision. A 30-year-old male driver of one of the vehicles was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The men, aged 32 and 29, are in police custody and are being questioned by detectives.

Police have appealed for witnesses and are searching for a couple the offender ran into as he was fleeing the scene.
