North Sea ferry sailings resume after lock repairs

Damaged lock gates which forced P&O to cancel two weekend ferries from Hull to Zeebrugge have been repaired.

Associated British Ports (ABP) said the problem at King George Dock in Hull had been caused by two metal securing rods being sheared off.

The sailing from Hull to Zeebrugge on 23 December and the return journey on Christmas Eve were cancelled due to the fault.

P&O apologised to customers but said sailings would now return to normal.
