Rail services between two Worcestershire stations have been restored after an eight-week closure to install a second track.

The new 3km (1.9 mile) section of line will allow an extra train to run each hour between Barnt Green and Redditch from December, Network Rail said.

A second platform and a new bridge have also been built at Alvechurch station.

Network Rail said it was investing £100m in north Worcestershire, including a new station at Bromsgrove.
