Redditch sheltered accommodation in suspected arson attack

Crews have spent the night dealing with a large fire in a terrace of six sheltered accommodation bungalows in Redditch, Worcestershire.

The fire, which started at about 03:00 BST on Saturday, is being treated as arson, West Mercia Police said.

A group of elderly residents was led to safety from the homes on Johnson Close while fire crews attended the blaze.

Firefighters remain at the scene to dampen down any hotspots and cut away damaged roofs and walls.
