Nine-year-old boy hit by car in Droitwich

A nine-year-old boy has been knocked down by a car, leaving him seriously injured.

The boy, who was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital, had abdominal pain, elbow and shoulder injuries, the ambulance service said.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa, driven by an 84-year-old woman, hit the child in Salwarpe Road, Droitwich, Worcestershire, at about 09:20 BST.

The car driver, from Droitwich, was not injured.
