Parrot 'backs England World Cup bid'

19 June 2014 Last updated at 12:55 BST

A parrot owned by an England football fan has learned to whistle the theme tune of the Great Escape.

Fran Sheridan from St Johns in Worcester said the African Grey parrot, named Slipmat, had picked up the tune within four or five weeks.

England face Uruguay in their second World Cup Group D match in Sao Paulo on Thursday. A defeat could see them go out of the competition.
