A sudden gust of wind forced a microlight off a runway and onto its side as it tried to take off, a report has concluded.

The 47-year-old pilot was taking off from Broadmeadow Farm in Hereford when the crash happened on 24 November.

He escaped uninjured but damage was done to the Quik GTR microlight's wing fabric and propeller.

An Air Accidents Investigation Branch report said wind and the "damp runway grass" led to a loss of control.
