Rail passengers are being warned about two months of closures while work takes place to improve services between Redditch and Birmingham.
Network Rail is building a new section of track near Redditch to allow one extra train to run per hour.
It also wants to redevelop Alvechurch station, adding a new platform and footbridge.
The railway will be closed between Barnt Green and Redditch for eight weeks from 6 July to 31 August.
The work is part of a £100m investment package,
Network Rail area director Liam Sumpter said: "There will be some short-term disruption while the work is carried out and passengers are being advised to always check before they travel to and from Redditch over the summer for the latest information."
