Elderly woman dies in 'severe' static caravan fire

An elderly woman has died in a static caravan fire in a Worcestershire village.

The "severe" blaze at Three Counties Park, Upper Pendock, started at about 04:30 GMT, the fire service said.

"Unfortunately, the body of an elderly woman was found inside the caravan," West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

"There was nothing that could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead," a spokeswoman added.

Officers from Hereford and Worcester fire service are working with police to establish the cause of the fire.
