Teenager dies in Redditch lake drowning

A teenage boy has drowned at a countryside centre in Worcestershire.

Three teenagers got into difficulty in a lake at the Arrow Valley Countryside Centre near Redditch just before 12:20 GMT, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Two of the boys were recovered from the water and treated for minor injuries.

The third boy was found a little later and taken by ambulance to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, where he was confirmed dead.

The victim has yet to be formally identified and West Mercia Police said it would release further information after the victim's family had been informed.
