Man arrested on suspicion of murder Hanbury stabbing

A man is being questioned on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 40s was found dead in a Worcestershire village.

The woman was discovered stabbed in a house on School Road in Hanbury, near Droitwich Spa at about 15:00 GMT on Thursday, a West Mercia Police spokesperson said.

The man, in his 20s, was arrested shortly afterwards and he remains in custody at Worcester Police Station.

The Worcestershire coroner has been informed.

Supt Mark Travis, police commander for South Worcestershire said: "Following this tragic incident, we continue our investigations in and around the house in School Road, including searches and forensic examinations.

"I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this to be an isolated incident and no-one else is being sought in relation to our investigation."

School Road in the village remains closed.
