Worcester man Martin Dark jailed for double stabbing
A man who admitted stabbing a couple at a house in Worcester has been jailed for 16 years.
Martin Dark, 52, from Bolston Road, Worcester, pleaded guilty to wounding at the city's crown court.
A man was left with 12 stab wounds to his body, chest and arms and a woman suffered slash wounds to her face in the attack in Goodrest Close on 20 May.
The judge ordered Dark should serve at least 12 years before a parole board decides if he is no longer a danger.
Dark was also sentenced to two years for attempting to escape from lawful custody and two years for possession of an offensive weapon, to run concurrently with his 16 year term.
Det Con Manny Sidhu of West Mercia Police said: "This was a particularly nasty attack and, while this kind of offence does not happen very often in Worcester, we are pleased with the 16-year sentence which obviously recognises the seriousness of Dark's assaults."
