Pensioner dies after being run over by own car in Powick

A man in his 90s has died after being hit by his own car which apparently rolled into him after being parked.

He became trapped underneath the car on Old Malvern Road in Powick, near Worcester, at about midday on Wednesday, West Mercia Police said.

Passers by helped free him before emergency services arrived.

He was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he received emergency surgery, but died overnight.
