Steven Paynter murder case: Three men before Hereford magistrates

Three men accused of murdering a man at his home in Hereford have appeared before magistrates in the city.

The victim has yet to be formally identified by police but is believed to be 46-year-old Steven Paynter.

He was found by officers responding to a report of an assault in Ryelands Street on Saturday afternoon.

Stacy Hales, 35, from Belmont Road, Stephen Munn, 20, from Golden Post, and Mark Edwards, 22, of no fixed abode, have been charged with murder.

All three appeared before Hereford Magistrates' Court and are due at Worcester Crown Court on Friday.

A woman arrested on suspicion of murder, Kim Horry, 20, of Ryelands Street - a different address to where the man died - has been charged with assisting an offender, police said.

She was bailed on Tuesday to appear before magistrates at a later date.
