Man arrested on suspicion of murder over Hereford death

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an unexplained death in Herefordshire.

Police were called to a house in Ryelands Street in Hereford at about 17:30 BST on Saturday when they received a report of an assault.

A man in his 40s was found at the address and was pronounced dead at the scene, a spokesman said.

Officers arrested a man in his 30s who is in custody at Hereford police station.

Det Insp Dave Williams said: "Our investigation is at an early stage and at this time we do not how the man died."

The area was cordoned off while forensic investigations were carried out.
