Parents charged over death of baby Isabella Vallance

A couple have been charged with murder following the death of their baby daughter last year.

Isabella Vallance was two months old when she died in December in hospital.

Tyler John Vallance, 20, who was living in Redditch as the time, is charged with murder of a child under one year.

Jessica Jamie Rosamay Wiggins, 18, of Engadine Road, Bromsgrove, is charged with causing or allowing the death of a child. They are due to appear before Redditch Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The couple have also been charged with the ill treatment or neglect of a child to cause unnecessary suffering or injury, West Mercia Police said.

Isabella died at the Birmingham Children's Hospital after being transferred from the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, where she was originally admitted on 7 December.

It is alleged the incidents of abuse took place between 5 October and 7 December 2012.

The pair were originally arrested on 9 December.

Ms Wiggins has been released on bail until the court appearance.
