Bike woman 'threatened girl with knife' near Brintons Park

A 15-year-old girl has been threatened at knifepoint by a woman on a bike in an "unprovoked attack", police said.

West Mercia Police said the teenager was walking out of Brintons Park in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, when the woman started to follow her.

She ordered the girl to hand over her purse and mobile phone before threatening her with a knife, a police spokesman said.

The girl managed to run away and the offender fled empty handed.

Investigating officer, Det Con Mel Cox said: "This appears to have been a completely unprovoked attack which has left the girl extremely shaken."

The woman is described as in her 20s, with blonde hair and wearing a white strappy top and dark trousers.

Anyone with information about the incident which occurred at 18:30 BST on Sunday is asked to contact police.
