Worcester foodbank 'runs short of supplies'
A foodbank in Worcester has said it is desperate for supplies and struggling to meet demand.
Based at All Saints Church, the foodbank supplies short-term emergency food parcels.
The group said it had helped more than 2,500 people in the area since it opened last June.
One of the volunteers, Colin Whitehead, said he had resorted to appealing to people on Twitter after the foodbank started to run short of some supplies.
He said more tinned fruit, vegetables and fruit juice were all desperately needed.
"We provide three days of food for people who are in crisis," he said.
"We had somebody in the other day who was pregnant and had run out of money and needed to eat."
The foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust, said it had seen a large increase in the number of people it supports over the past year.
Clients are usually referred by social services, Sure Start and similar organisations.
