Work is taking place in a park in Worcestershire to prevent flooding from a brook.

A screen which collects debris and prevents blockages in Blakedown Brook in Springfield Park, Kidderminster, needs replacing.

The Environment Agency, which has been funding the project, said a small area was being cordoned off, but footpaths around the park would be open.

Work is expected to be finished by the end of the week.

Rock and gravel has previously been added to improve the brook habitat and help fish migrate upstream, the agency said.

It has been working with Wyre Forest District Council on the scheme.
